Who we are
Founder and Creator of PsychFlix Media
Podcast Co-Creator and Content Contributor
Hello! I’m Dr. Amaal Bhaloo, a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellow at the Medical College of Wisconsin. PsychFlix Media was born from a love of storytelling and a deep curiosity about how media shapes our minds and mirrors our inner worlds. While this began as a personal project, I am now hoping to grow PsychFlix Media into a movement that challenges stigma, amplifies connection, and changes how we talk about mental health in the stories we love. Come join us!
Hey there! I’m Dr. Marissa Davis, a board-certified Psychiatrist. I’ve always enjoyed learning how art and media help us explore the human condition, emotional connection, and self-reflection. Viewing media through a psychiatric lens has expanded this interest and allowed a deeper understanding of media’s role in shaping our understanding of mental health. Through PsychFlix Media I hope to share insights on trending cultural moments in media through a psychiatric perspective to create a dialogue about the role of storytelling in mental health and building connections.
